Welcome to Byzantium! Our bead and gift store was founded in 1985 by Libby. I’m sure you’ll come upon reminders of her as you take the tour. She named it Byzantium after the capital of the Byzantine Empire, which was a center of trade in the ancient world.

So, like the old Byzantium, you will find treasures from all parts of the globe. We specialize in beads, but in our contacts with the traders we have come upon all sorts of interesting items that just seem to end up in the store!
